Upgrade Program Scholarship

Upgrade offers the Jump Start to College Scholarship to students participating in the program. This scholarship is intended to help adult learners with tuition and fees. This is a one-time scholarship for individuals who meet the scholarship criteria listed below. The scholarship opens for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.

Individuals enrolled in 3 credit hours this fall may earn a $250 scholarship.
Individuals enrolled in 6 or more credit hours this fall may earn a $500 scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria

In order to be eligible for the Upgrade Scholarship, the student must:

-be an adult learner who has already completed 30 credit hours

-be an active participant in the Upgrade Program

-be attending: Alamo Colleges, UIW, Texas A&M University, UTSA, Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Mary’s University, or Trinity University

-have at least a 2.0 GPA

– be working towards an undergraduate degree (including certificate, associates or first bachelor’s degree)

– be planning to enroll in the Spring 2021 semester

Scholarship Application & Details

Recipient of the scholarship must agree to check in with an Upgrade advisor at least once per semester for a 30-minute advising session (phone call or tele-conferencing).

Intended Semester: Summer 2021

Scholarship filing period: May 10-21, 2021

Deadline: May 21, 2021 at 11:59 PM

Award Announcement: June 1, 2021
